Right Steps Director
Mary Beth Cunningham
Born and raised in Northeast Philadelphia, Mary Beth knew she would become an elementary education teacher from a young age. Growing up, Mary Beth experienced first-hand what it is like to be surrounded by young children. Her mother ran a home daycare center in which she played an integral role interacting and working with the students. During the summers, Mary Beth volunteered at camps and tutored other students in grade school. The youngest of four children and having five, school-aged nieces and nephews, Mary Beth finds joy in educating elementary students. Mary Beth strives to ensure each student’s first learning experience is an amazing one, and she believes the first interactions shape every student into the person they will one day become.
A Cum Laude graduate of West Chester University, Mary Beth joined the Right Steps team in 2009 as a Kindergarten teacher. While studying at West Chester University, Mary Beth worked at a daycare center which allowed her to gain experience interacting with students from 6-weeks old to 12-years old. Mary Beth has a Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education (K-6) and Special Education (N-21).
Mary Beth believes that a positive attitude is contagious and that is why she is always smiling!
